Week 11 B: Jataka Tales

For the second half of this week, I read the Jataka Tales by Ellen C Babbitt.  I absolutely loved these stories.  That had a sense of familiarity of the little tales and fables I grew up listening to my mom read, but also were very different.  I really loved The Foolish, Timid Rabbit and The Quarrel of the Quails. The Foolish, Timid Rabbit kept reminding me of the story about the tortoise and the hare racing.  In that story, the rabbit was also foolish for being a bit too sure of himself.  

I really loved how these stories brought a bit of my childhood back and I can't wait to read the rest of them later this week.
